Chocolate Almond Shortcake

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 4 ounces sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa
  • 4 ounces butter
  • 4 ounces butter, melted
  • 8 ounces icing sugar
  • 4 ounces flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon almond essence

Recipe

  • 1 cream butter and sugar, add egg, beat well.
  • 2 add sifted dry ingredients.
  • 3 press into swiss roll tin.
  • 4 bake 20 minutes about 400 0°f.
  • 5 almond topping- beat egg and butter, add essence, then dry ingredients. mix well.
  • 6 spread on base. allow to set.
  • 7 ice with chocolate icing.
