Chocolate Almond Shortcake

Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 egg
- 4 ounces sugar
- 1 teaspoon cocoa
- 4 ounces butter
- 4 ounces butter, melted
- 8 ounces icing sugar
- 4 ounces flour
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon almond essence
Recipe
- 1 cream butter and sugar, add egg, beat well.
- 2 add sifted dry ingredients.
- 3 press into swiss roll tin.
- 4 bake 20 minutes about 400 0°f.
- 5 almond topping- beat egg and butter, add essence, then dry ingredients. mix well.
- 6 spread on base. allow to set.
- 7 ice with chocolate icing.
