Cake Brownies

Ingredients

  • Servings: 24
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1 packet confectioners' sugar
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350.
  • 2 grease and flour a 9 x 13 baking pan.
  • 3 mix butter, oil, water and cocoa together in small sauce pan.
  • 4 bring to boil.
  • 5 add this mixture to flour and sugar and beat until smooth.
  • 6 add eggs, baking soda, buttermilk and vanilla.
  • 7 mix well.
  • 8 pour into prepared baking pan.
  • 9 bake 20 minutes.
  • 10 prepare frosting while brownies are baking.
  • 11 put all frosting ingredients in medium saucepan and heat.
  • 12 do not boil.
  • 13 frost immediately after removing from oven.
  • 14 cut into squares when cool.
