Apple Pancakes With Apple Syrup

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened apple cider or 1/2 cup juice
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 dash ground cloves
  • 2 cups biscuit mix
  • 1 tablespoon biscuit mix
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and shredded
  • 1 tablespoon lemon peel, grated

Recipe

  • 1 to make syrup: in a small saucepan, combine the syrup ingredients over medium heat, bring to a boil, reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes or until slightly reduced.
  • 2 for pancakes: preheat grill.
