Brenda's Xmas Cake

Total Time: 5 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 1 hr 30 mins Cook Time: 4 hrs

Ingredients

• 1 cup butter
• 1 1/2 cups sugar
• 3 cups flour
• 3 eggs
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 2 teaspoons vanilla
• 1 1/4 cups mixed peel
• 3 cups mixed candied fruit
• 1 lb raisins
• 8 ounces red maraschino cherries
• 8 ounces green maraschino cherries
• 1 1/4 cups glace red cherries
• 1 1/4 cups glace green cherries
• 4 pineapple rings, yellow color (save for top of cake)
• 4 ounces walnut meats
• 4 ounces pecan halves

Recipe

• 1 preheat oven to 250 fahrenheit.
• 2 keep half of red cherries and pecans for top.
• 3 make the batter first and then put in the fruit.
• 4 add one half cup of warm water and mix.
• 5 add batter to angel food pan lined with buttered-both-sides parchment paper.
• 6 bake at 250 fahrenheit for 4 hours.
