Chess Cake

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 lb light brown sugar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 combine brown sugar, sugar, eggs and butter.
  • 2 beat until light.
  • 3 sift together flour, baking powder and salt;.
  • 4 blend into egg mixture.
  • 5 mix well and add vanilla and nuts.
  • 6 spoon into a greased and floured 13x9-inch baking pan.
  • 7 bake at 325°f for 45 minutes until firm around edges.
  • 8 center will be soft.
