Brownie Caramel Layer Bars

Ingredients

- 1 (14 ounce) package kraft caramels
- 1/3 cup evaporated milk
- 1 (18 ounce) package german chocolate cake mix
- 3/4 cup melted butter
- 1/3 cup evaporated milk
- 1 cup chopped pecans or 1 cup walnuts
- 6 ounces chocolate chips
Recipe
- 1 combine caramels and the first 1/3 cup evaporated milk.
- 2 cook over low heat until melted.
- 3 grease and flour 13x9 inch pan.
- 4 in a large bowl combine cake mix, butter, second 1/3 cup evaporated milk, and nuts.
- 5 stir until dough holds together.
- 6 press half of the dough on the bottom of the pan, bake for 6 min at 350 degrees.
- 7 sprinkle chocolate chips over crust.
- 8 spread caramel over crust.
- 9 press the last half of cake mixture gently on top of the caramel.
- 10 bake for 15-18 minute.
- 11 cool slightly and refrigerate.
- 12 cut into squares and serve with cool, creamy milk!
