Chocolate Amaretto Pound Cake

Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups butter, room temperature
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/4 cup amaretto
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • confectioners' sugar, for dusting

Recipe

  • 1 position an oven rack in the center of the oven.
  • 2 preheat the oven to 325°f
  • 3 grease a 10-inch bundt pan.
  • 4 in the bowl of an electric mixer, cream the butter.
  • 5 gradually add the sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
  • 6 add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

  • 9 add the dry ingredients alternately with the buttermilk, mixing until evenly blended.

  • 11 bake for 1 hour and 15 to 20 minutes, until a tester inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • 12 let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes.
  • 13 remove the cake from the pan to a rack to cool completely.
