Chocolate Amaretto Pound Cake

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups butter, room temperature
- 3 cups sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1/4 cup amaretto
- 2 cups flour
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup buttermilk
- confectioners' sugar, for dusting
Recipe
- 1 position an oven rack in the center of the oven.
- 2 preheat the oven to 325°f
- 3 grease a 10-inch bundt pan.
- 4 in the bowl of an electric mixer, cream the butter.
- 5 gradually add the sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
- 6 add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- 7 add the amaretto, beat to blend.
- 8 in a medium bowl, combine the flour, cocoa, salt, and baking powder.
- 9 add the dry ingredients alternately with the buttermilk, mixing until evenly blended.
- 10 pour batter into the prepared pan.
- 11 bake for 1 hour and 15 to 20 minutes, until a tester inserted in the center comes out clean.
- 12 let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes.
- 13 remove the cake from the pan to a rack to cool completely.
- 14 dust with confectioner's sugar.
