Best Ever Sweet Rolls

Total Time: 2 hrs 35 mins Preparation Time: 35 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • 2 (1/4 ounce) packages yeast
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 2 1/2 cups water, 110 degrees
  • 1 (18 ounce) box yellow cake mix
  • 5 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • sugar
  • cinnamon
  • fruit filling, your choice (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 in large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water 3-5 minutes.
  • 2 add cake mix, 1 cup flour, eggs, oil and salt.
  • 3 beat well until bubbles appear.
  • 4 add 5 1/4 cups flour, slowly.
  • 5 mix in mixmaster or by hand until soft dough forms.
  • 6 knead about 5 minutes.
  • 7 place in greased bowl and let rise until double in size.
  • 8 punch down dough, and roll out on lightly floured surface.
  • 9 coat with melted butter, cinnamon, sugar and optional fruit.
  • 10 roll up like a jelly roll.
  • 11 cut with a dull knife or dental floss to desired thickness.
  • 12 place in a greased baking pan and allow to rise until doubled - - (if you wish to freeze them to bake later, skip this rising step and put directly into the freezer).
  • 13 bake at 350 degrees for 25-35 minutes.
  • 14 coat lightly with buttercream frosting once slightly cool.
