Biblical Cake

Total Time: 2 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 8 ounces raisins
  • 1/2 teaspoon mixed spice
  • 6 ounces sugar
  • 12 ounces flour, sifted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 8 ounces chopped figs or 8 ounces dates

Recipe

  • 1 cream the butter and sugar.
  • 2 add the eggs.
  • 3 mix in the rest of the ingredients, stirring well, adding the fruit last.
  • 4 bake in an 8 inch tin at 350 f for 1 1/2-2 hours.
