Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, softened
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 5 1/4-5 3/4 cups powdered sugar

Recipe

  • 1 beat cream cheese, butter, vanilla, and cocoa powder with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. gradually add 2 cups of the powdered sugar, beating well. gradually beat in additional powdered sugar to reach spreading consistency.
  • 2 this generously frosts tops and sides of two 8- or 9-inch round cakes. (have the recipe to frost a 13x9x2-inch cake.) store left-over frosting in a sealed container in the refrigerator. cover and store frosted cake in refrigerator.
