Apple Pecan Layer Cake

Ingredients

- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cups applesauce
- 3/4 cup oil
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup butter (no subs)
- 4 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 6 -8 teaspoons apple juice
Recipe
- 1 heat oven to 350f degrees.
- 2 grease and flour 2 9in cake pans.
- 3 in lg bowl mix first 6 ing.
- 4 add applesauce, oil, and eggs.
- 5 blend until moistened.
- 6 beat on hi for 2 minutes.
- 7 stir in pecans.
- 8 pour into pans, bake 35 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.
- 9 remove from pans, cool.
- 10 --------frosting-------.
- 11 in small heavy saucepan, on med heat, heat butter until light golden brown, stirring constantly.
- 12 remove from heat, cool.
- 13 in lg bowl mix powdered sugar, 4 t of the apple juice and the butter.
- 14 beat until well blended.
- 15 add more apple juice as needed to make the right spreading consistency.
