Charishma's Gramflour Pancakes (besan Chilla)

Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons gram flour
- 1 large onion, peeled, washed and very finely chopped
- 4 green chilies, washed, ends trimmed and finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 pinch baking soda
- salt
- 1 pinch asafetida powder
- water, to knead
- oil, to shallow fry
Recipe
- 1 knead all the ingredients, except the oil to deep fry, together in a bowl.
- 2 roll out the pancakes not too thick nor too thin.
- 3 heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan.
- 4 shallow fry the pancake till it is lightly browned on one side.
- 5 flip and shallow fry using a little oil on the other side as well until brown specs appear.
- 6 serve hot with tomato ketchup or with buttered bread and hot tea.
