Chewy Double Ginger Squares

Ingredients

- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/2 cup crystallized ginger, chopped
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350f (180c).grease 13-x 9-inch (3.5 l) metal cake pan; line with parchment paper. set aside.
- 2 in bowl, whisk sugar, molasses, butter, eggs and vanilla.
- 3 in separate bowl, whisk flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and salt; stir into butter mixture until combined.
- 4 stir in crystallized ginger, scrape into prepared pan.
- 5 bake in centre of oven until cake tester inserted in centre comes out clean, about 40 minutes.
- 6 let cool in pan on rack for 45 minutes.
