Applesauce Cake

Ingredients

• 1 cup sugar
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 1/2 cups applesauce
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 2 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/4 teaspoon allspice
• 1/8 teaspoon clove
• 3/4 cup raisins
• 1/2 cup nuts, chopped
• 1/2 cup dates (optional)

Recipe

• 1 cream sugar and shortening.
• 2 add soda to applesauce.
• 3 sift dry ingredients.
• 4 add to creamed mixture.
• 5 add raisins and nuts and applesauce.
• 6 pour into greased 9 inch cake pan i used tube
• 7 bake slowly 325 degrees for 60 minutes.
