Buttermilk Cornbread

Ingredients
- 1 cup yellow cornmeal
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder (heaping)
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda (rounded)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup buttermilk (may take a little more)
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoons oil
Recipe
- 1 preheat over to 425 degrees.
- 2 put oil in skillet and heat while mixing cornbread.
- 3 mix dry ingredients and form a well.
- 4 add egg and beat in the well.
- 5 add enough buttermilk to achieve near cake batter consistency. mix well. add heated oil. mix well.
- 6 pour into hot skillet and bake for 20-25 minutes.
