Buns (eliza Patton)

Total Time: 2 hrs 20 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 18
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons active dry yeast
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup organic raw sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • wheat flour

Recipe

  • 1 warm milk, butter, sugar and salt in saucepan until it gets good and warm (do not boil). add egg and extra yolk.
  • 2 put a little flour in before yeast, then add enough flour to achieve desired firmness (beat a lot after each addition of flour; not as stiff as bread dough.).
  • 3 grease tops and let rise for 30 minutes. bake in 350 degree oven.
  • 4 hint: watch the rising of these rolls as they do rise rapidly. if they rise too much, they will turn out airy and dry.
  • 5 original recipe: compressed yeast cakes (little sugar)(in lieu of dry yeast), 1 c sugar (in lieu of raw sugar), flour (in lieu of wheat flour).
