Almond Tea Cake

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped almonds
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Recipe

  • 1 cream butter and 1/2 cup sugar.
  • 2 add egg yolks (well beaten), almond extract, and milk.
  • 3 sift together and add flour and baking powder.
  • 4 spread mixture in greased cake pan.
  • 5 beat egg whites until stiff and gradually add 1/2 cup sugar.
  • 6 fold in almonds.
  • 7 spread meringue over cake mixture and sprinkle with sugar.
  • 8 bake at 350°f for 30 minutes.
