Beer Spice Cake

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup beer
- 1/2 cup walnuts
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 375 degrees f (190 degrees c).
- 2 grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- 3 sift together flour, baking powder, cloves, cinnamon, allspice baking soda and salt.
- 4 set aside.
- 5 in a large bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- 6 add egg and beat well.
- 7 add flour mixture alternately with beer and mix well to combine.
- 8 fold in the chopped walnuts.
- 9 pour into a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- 10 bake at 375 degrees f for 40 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
